PSC Educational Consulting and Advocacy: Working with Families and Individuals
Protecting Your Rights
PSC Educational Consulting and Advocacy offers comprehensive advice and advocacy in matters of your child's special education needs. Together, I will assist you in gaining a thorough understanding of the language used in the IEP, what the test scores reflect and how you can become actively involved in the development process of your child's IEP.  If you have a legal matter, I can support you in finding counsel as we are a consulting firm and not attorneys.  I have a reputation for creative approaches and achieving exceptional results in the areas of my expertise; Special Education. I’ve been a professional educator for over 20 years.
Areas of Expertise

IEP and Program Development
The IEP process can be overwhelming. It's a language that most parents haven't learned to speak. At PSC Educational Consulting and Advocacy, we understand how confusing the IEP process is. We believe that your education is as important as your child's. We take the time to teach you what the process entails, 'demystify' the confusing language, breaking down each section of the paperwork, explaining the whys and wherefores of both the IEP and Multidisciplinary Team Assessment Reports. We strongly believe in the power of knowledge and as an informed parent or guardian, you are able to truly contribute to the process of creating the most impactful Individual Education Plan for your child.

Standing Up for You and Your Rights
As a professional special educator, I have over 20 years practical experience in the field working hands-on with both students and families. I have created, designed and implemented countless IEPs. I am familiar with process from start to finish. I can navigate you through the language of the IEP, help interpret testing results and break down each section of the IEP so you are knowledgeable, comfortable and informed about what you are signing.
I have witnessed far too many parents sit through IEP meetings, out-numbered by teachers, principals, psychologists, speech, PT and occupational therapists, as they try and make sense of so much technical information and decipher the foreign language that is Special Education.

What sets me apart from other advocates, is my first hand experience as not only a special education teacher but also my experience as a special ed student! I spent far too many days/years in school struggling just to keep up with my classmates. Although I was bright and articulate, I was still failing. This had impacted my self-esteem, motivation and social relationships. The system did very little to ensure I was getting the support I needed to be successful in school. The system failed me. I will not let this happen to your child.

I look forward to meeting with you and getting to know you. We are in this together!

Sincerely,
